St Michael's Church Of England Primary School

St Michael’s is an ‘Eco School’. The Eco Schools programme provides a simple framework to enable our school to improve the quality of the local environment and become more sustainable. It also gives the school the opportunity to achieve a prestigious award at Bronze, Silver or Green Flag level.
By encouraging pupils to take responsibility for the environmental management of their school, they will develop an increased sense of responsibility for their surroundings. Eco-Schools enhances and thrives within a caring school community where the views of others are valued and action is taken in response to these views. The school becomes a place to make positive changes and to make a difference.

St Michael’s Eco Action Team meets once a month to identify and act on issues involving our school’s environment. Each class from Y1-6 hold elections to democratically decide which children will be more directly involved. The action team also includes parents, teachers and governors. If you do have the time to get involved please come and see Mrs Delaney.

In 2015-16- the focus of our eco drive

is gardening. We have 2 lunchtime

gardening clubs weekly and over 60

children in KS2 participate. We have
