St Michael's Church Of England Primary School

School Council

All of our councilors started off by nominating themselves and trying to persuade their classmates to vote for them. The junior children had to prepare a little speech, (which was really nerve-racking!) then the rest of the children voted for their favourite candidate. The successful candidates now make up our School Council! We meet every three weeks and discuss all sorts of things to do with our school and making our school a better place. Our aims for this year are:

  • Speak to all pupils and ask what changes they would like to see around school
  • Promote our Christian and British values
  • Enhance outdoor provision and equipment

We want to give every child in school a voice, so we have a suggestion box in our classes where children can write ideas. We try to feedback to our classes and ask them for ideas so that everyone is involved.
